The National Police Service has warned that there is credible intelligence suggesting that there is Alshabaab terror gang planning to carry out terror attacks in the country during the holy month of Ramadhan, although their capability has been greatly down graded by security agencies overtime. The Police Service has however reassured the citizenry that Security agencies continue to remain on high alert during this period to thwart any attempts.

The National Police Service has warned that there are 3 Kenyans who have sneaked out of the country to join Alshabab terror group in Somalia. They are reportedly undertaking training with an intention of sneaking back into the country to stage terror attacks and also, they are in contact with other suspected terrorists within the country. In this regard, the National Security organs have heightened vigilance throughout the republic.

Your attention is drawn to a recently published security related report in the Sunday Nation of January 21, 2018 outlining emerging crime trends in Nairobi city.

The report highlighted criminal gangs currently operating in the city and targeting people leaving ATM’s, Forex Bureaus, Mpesa shops and even pedestrians going about their  business. In addition, the gangs also use motorcycles and snatch handbags and mobile phones from pedestrians in the CBD.

On June 10 & 11, 2016, security department web champions participated in a website training workshop at the ICT Corporate lab

 The champions were drawn from all the central departments and university of Nairobi satellite campus. The aim of the web drive was to sensitive the champions on the different web parameters and uploading content on the websites.

On June 2, 2016, the Director Security Security and Safety Services  teamed up with the Estates Manager and Manager Construction and maintenance in an inspection of the newly constructed police post at the University's malindi farm.
