62nd Graduation Ceremony

A record 8,428 graduates were conferred degrees and awarded diplomas by the Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi at the University of Nairobi’s 62nd graduation ceremony.

At the fete, Prof. Patricia Kameri- Mbote went down in history as the first woman to receive the Degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D) of the University of Nairobi.

The graduation summary was 737 Diploma awards, 5413 Bachelor degree awards, 54 Post-graduate diploma awards, 2130 Master degree awards, 27 Fellowship awards, 56 Doctor of Philosophy degree awards and 1Higher Doctorate Degree Award.

One Health Project for the Horn of Africa

One Health Regional Network for the Horn of Africa (HORN) is a multidisciplinary, international partnership led by the University of Liverpool and is being implemented in academic institutions in Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somaliland.  The project aims to strengthen capacity of individuals and institutions to undertake high quality One Health research in the Horn of Africa. It is being implemented in the School of Public Health College of Health Sciences and Department of Public Health Pharmacology and Toxicology (PHPT) in te College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (CAVS)

AU Intra-Africa Mobility Program

The University of Nairobi has received an excellent rating by a delegation from the Africa Union mission who visited the University to evaluate management on AU Scholarship funds.  

This was revealed by Dr. Yohannes Woldetensae, AU evaluation mission when the team paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor on Wednesday December 4, 2019.
